AI has taken over our lives. Whether you ‘re using Siri to set alarms or Google Maps to get directions, it’s everywhere.

For creatives, there tend to be two camps of people when it comes to AI creeping into their space.

  1. There are those that are scared and look at AI as a threat or replacement to their work.
  2. Then there are those that see artificial intelligence as empowering because of how the technology allows them to unlock more of their creativity.

I tend to fall into the latter category, which is why I was excited to try out Wordtune.

What is Wordtune?

Wordtune is an AI tool whose goal is to “revolutionize the way we read and write“. If you’re looking for a comprehensive writing tool that is easy to use and would be a valuable asset in your business ventures, then Wordtune may be the perfect solution for you. We’ll take a look at some of the features that both Wordtune and Wordtune Read (the Wordtune summarizer) offer and discuss how they can benefit you as a writer. We’ll also explore some of the pros and cons of using this software, so that you can make an informed decision about whether or not it’s the right tool for you.

How does Wordtune work?

Wordtune is a machine learning program that uses “natural language processing” (NLP) to help you improve your writing. Despite it’s futuristic sound, NLP is nothing new. In fact, it has been around for nearly a century, as scientists, developers, and researchers have thought the idea of machines being able to understand the context and semantics, or rather intention, of words would lead to some amazing outcomes as the communication gap between humans and computer continues to narrow. The machine learning continues to get “smarter” the more it’s used without the need to write explicit code to do so.

You actually are likely to already use advanced AI NLP every single day. Some everyday examples:

  1. Predictive text on your phone
  2. Google Translate
  3. Siri or Alexa
  4. Grammarly

And, that’s barely scratching the surface.

So what does all of this mean for Wordtune?

Essentially, Wordtune is taking massive reams of data and turning it into actionable information that can help you improve your writing.

The AI powered software looks at how words are used in popular books and articles, so that it can give you suggestions on how to use them in your own writing. It means that Wordtune is able to understand the context of your writing and provide you with feedback and suggestions to unlock that writer’s block, save time, and generate read-worthy content.

What are the benefits of using Wordtune?

There are a few key benefits that Wordtune offers its users. These include:

  1. Easy to use Chrome Extension
  2. Improved writing skills through recommendations, corrections, and smart synonyms
  3. Automatic translation
  4. In-app editor
  5. Multi-format Options
  6. A comprehensive AI writing tool with built in article summarizer in their new release, Wordtune Read

#1 – Easy to Use Chrome Extension

Wordtune has a simple to use Google Chrome Extension that has been installed by more than 1M+ users worldwide. In order to install, simply go to the Chrome Web Store and click install or visit Wordtune’s website and click ‘add to Chrome’.

The nice thing about this is that, once you’ve installed the extension, it’s uber-easy to use. Simply highlight over the content you want to change and click ‘⌘+D’ to receive multiple options on how to reword what you’ve written (or are trying to say):

#2 – Improved writing skills

Wordtune can also help improve your writing skills. As mentioned, Wordtune is an AI writer that uses NLP to understand the context of your writing and provide you with feedback and suggestions accordingly. This can be incredibly helpful if you’re struggling with a particular issue in your writing or just looking for some general tips on how to improve your overall skills.

#3 – Automatic translation

One of the benefits of using Wordtune is that it offers automatic translation. This can be extremely helpful if you’re writing in a foreign language or trying to communicate with someone who speaks a different language. Wordtune will automatically translate your text into the desired language, so that you can easily communicate with anyone in the world.

Keep in mind, however, that automatic translation is not perfect and there may be some errors in the translated text. Further, this is primarily focused on translation to English at the moment.

#4 – Multi-format Options

Wordtune also offers multiple options for the formatting of the content that you’re trying to rewrite.

You may want to make yourself more casual and relatable in one scenario and more buttoned-up or formal in another. Depending on the context, Wordtune allows you to write for your audience.

Beyond that you can choose to shorten (for that ‘less is more’ vibe’) or expand (when depth is key) the content that you’re writing.

#5 – Wordtune Read

Beyond the ability to make your writing or blog posts stand out, Wordtune also offers a summarizer tool (Wordtune Read) that can help you condense lengthy pieces of writing into more manageable chunks. This is one of my favorite features as it can be incredibly useful if you need to quickly digest a large amount of information or want to create a shorter version of a longer article.

Check out how Wordtune Read summarized this entire post and condensed it into a 60-second read here.

Wordtune Pricing

Wordtune offers a few different pricing options, depending on your needs.

The first option is the free plan, which includes all of the basic features, such as grammar and spelling checks, translation, and the in-app editor. This is a great option if you’re just starting out with Wordtune or only need to use it for occasional writing.

If you need more features, such as the ability to format your text or use the summarizer tool, you can upgrade to the paid plan for $11/month. This is still a very reasonable price, considering all of the features that you get access to.

Finally, if you need even more features, such as the ability to use Wordtune offline or use the app on your mobile device, you can upgrade to the premium plan for $22/month. This is the most expensive option, but it’s still a great deal considering all of the features that you get access to.
